Financing
- You may wish to finance the purchase of your new boat. We
are not affiliated with any lender but can provide assistance
in directing you to professional lending firms.
Insurance
- If you are financing the purchase, you will be required
to provide insurance for your new boat. We are not affiliated
with any insurers but can provide assistance in directing
you to specialists in marine insurance.
Ordering
- When you order a new boat you are accepting responsibility
for funding the purchase. Deposits received at the time of
an order are NON-REFUNDABLE. The boat must be paid for, either
by cash or letter of credit before the boat leaves the factory.
A buyer's failure to provide funding at the proper time places
serious burdens on the manufacturer and may jeopardize the
delivery of the boat.
Construction
- While the boat is being built, Ballena Bay Yacht Brokers
has very little influence on the builder's schedule. It is
our policy to keep buyers informed of the progress of construction
and anticipated shipping dates. Delays are common but not
the rule. Choice such as upholstery fabrics, color and equipment
options must be made on a timely basis to avoid extra costs
for rework, etc. Ballena Bay Yacht Brokers can not be held
responsible for reword costs.
Shipping
Costs - Unless otherwise quoted, buyers are responsible
for the total cost of shipping the vessel.
Commissioning
- Assembly of the boat is the responsibility of Ballena Bay
Yacht Brokers. Upon arrival the vessel will be inspected for
shipping damage. Typically, this is done before the buyer
boards the boat. Anti-fouling bottom paint must be applied
and is arranged at time of order. Buyer has choice of colors
and we'll be happy to assist in making the right choice.
Buyer's
Inspection and Acceptance - Ballena Bay Yacht Brokers
will accompany the buyer through the inspection process. All
items noted by buyer for further attention will be listed
and buyer will receive a copy. Ballena Bay Yacht Brokers will
review the list, correct those that are dealer responsibility
and forward to the manufacturer those that are properly manufacturer's
responsibility. Buyer will be notified of the final disposition
of every item. Ballena Bay Yacht Brokers will make every reasonable
effort to achieve buyer's satisfaction. Buyer must take
final acceptance before vessel can be delivered to buyer.
Berthing
- It is the buyer's responsibility to provide berthing for
the boat upon final acceptance. However, Ballena Bay Yacht
Brokers will provide up to 30 days free berthing at our sales
dock during the installation of electronics, etc. Provision
of free berthing entitles Ballena Bay Yacht Brokers personnel
to show the boat to qualified buyers. After 30 days, buyer
will be billed for berthing at the current rate charged to
owners of brokerage boats.
Equipment/Electronics
Installation - It is normally the responsibility of the
buyer to choose, arrange for and manage the installation of
ancillary equipment such as electronics, heaters, windlass,
genset, etc. However, Ballena Bay Yacht Brokers, at the buyer's
request, will be most happy to quote on the purchase and installation
of all auxillary systems. Proper performance of the equipment
shall be the responsibly of the subcontractor.
Boat
Shows - In every case, the buyer will receive prior notification
if Ballena Bay Yacht Brokers wishes to display the vessel
in a boat show. Any consideration will be agreed to in advance.
