Valiant
Yachts Celebrating 30 Years of Yacht Making
Excellence! Valiant Yachts are proudly hand-built in
Texas, USA by the finest marine craftsmen anywhere.
Valiants have long been widely recognized as the benchmark
by which all other offshore cruising sailboats are measured.
Valiant owners love their boats with an almost religious
fervor. That’s not surprising, considering that the
Valiant gives them a combination of characteristics
summed up in the term that Valiant originally introduced:
performance cruiser.
Designed
in 1972 by a youthful naval architect Robert Perry and
built only in America ever since, these yachts have
earned their reputation the hard way -- one circumnavigation
at a time. For three decades Valiant Yachts have shown
their commitment to continual product evolution and
refinement; in 2004 they are still the state-of-the-art
in performance cruisers.
Valiant yachts offer something that most other so-called
cruising boats still don't have – the ability to sail
fast. The skeg-hung rudder and modified fin keel give
the double-ended hull a unique level of quickness and
maneuverability. This, combined with comfortable cruising
interior and an exceptionally strong hull, makes Valiant
a veritable sailing phenomenon.
In
fact, Valiants have logged more circumnavigations and
more short-handed ocean crossings than any other brand
of sailboat ever built, bar none. They have logged more
ocean miles - over 3-million! - than any other brand
of sailboat ever built. It is no wonder that Sail America
has inducted Valiant to the "American Sailboat Hall
of Fame".
And
even though they don't claim to be racing boats, Valiants
have finished at the top of the fleets in some of the
world’s most challenging races, including the Singlehanded
Transatlantic and the BOC Challenge.
When
you look at all the reasons, it isn't suprising that
many new 42' and 50' owners are on their second Valiant,
having upgraded from an earlier model (32', 37', 39',
40' or 47').
If you're serious about cruising, you should know more
about Valiant Yachts. And if you want to know more it
makes sense to talk to Ballena Bay Yachts, we are the
